There are people who have become disillusioned with the church. This frustration is sad and disappointing and needs to be addressed. The Bible is clear that the church is God's chosen tool for hope and change. To truly obey Scripture means to turn this disillusionment and frustration into a labor of love as we each look for ways to carry out the mission of the church.
We love the church. We created the RightNow Conference in 2004 because we love serving church leaders. We believe that the church is THE force to attack the atrocities of this world and bring the hope of Jesus to desperate situations. Sure, we sometimes get frustrated with the church, but then we are reminded of Paul's words in Colossians that Jesus is the head of the church (Colossians 1:18).
We also love church leaders. We know that you have an enormous responsibility to teach Scripture and inspire people to follow God with their lives. As your church service or Bible study ends and people are sent out into the world, they are on mission. They have opportunities to impact the world around them for Christ. But the road of life is tough. People get discouraged and hurt. Your church can be a sanctuary for them. A place to rest. A place to be encouraged by the fellowship of others. And a place to be reminded of the mission and sent back out again.
Some are sent out to impact boardrooms and cubicles. Others are sent out to impact neighborhoods and PTA meetings. Still, others are sent out to impact classrooms and locker rooms.
We are committed to serving the staff and volunteer leaders who so passionately teach adults and students. The RightNow Conference is designed to uniquely help staff teams lead their people to embrace the gospel of Jesus Christ, embark on his mission, and be his church.
When the church is unified in Christ and his mission, there’s no end to what God could do in and through us.
